January School Closure

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

Happy New Year!

With the recent, temporary closure of Elementary Schools across the Province for Monday January 4th to Friday January 8th, there will be no staff in schools available to print materials for Asynchronous students during this week.  We do hope the closure is temporary, and we will be able to return to normal delivery and collection of materials by the following week.

In the meantime, there are multiple ways to access the work teachers have prepared for this week:

Option 1: Log onto the Google Classroom/SeeSaw account for your child’s classroom. All class work is posted there.

Option 2: Request an email/electronic copy with the class work for the week attached.  Even if you do not have an email, each TLDSB student does.  It is their 6 digit student number @tldsb.me

You do not have to have a printer at home in order to do the work provided.  Anything that teachers are assigning that requires a student to write a response can be copied onto paper (i.e. think back to when you were in school and had to write answers to questions from a textbook).  If you do have access to a printer, only print the pages necessary for assessment that need to be returned to the teacher.

If you do not have access to any electronic device to view this week’s work, please contact your child’s teacher to request a phone call where they can walk you through some activities you can still be doing at home.

We are sorry for this inconvenience.  Should the closure go beyond this week, we will hopefully be able to come up with an alternative solution.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
